The Village Fayre, Dog Show and 10k Run on Sunday 17th July turned out to be a most enjoyable day despite ’11th hour’ parking problems (about which we appreciated the understanding and forbearance of car drivers). £1,400 was raised for the Community Field; plus funds were successfully raised by and for other local organisations too. Superb entertainment was provided by West Down schoolchildren doing their Wake & Shake routines, Zumba and Karate displays and local band ‘Jose and The Hot Dogs’.
Dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes entered the Dog Show and many also had a go at the fun Agility Course. Sincere thanks to the main sponsor CharterVets and Top’n’Tails Pet Shop, as well as all the individual sponsors.
Ilfracombe Running Club organised the 10k Run (not for the faint hearted!) as well as childrens’ races on site. With the Bouncy Castle, Pony Rides, Cream Teas, Mabel’s Ice Creams, BBQ and Bar, as well as various stalls, it was a lovely day out – in glorious sunshine – for the all the family.
Thanks to everyone who supported this successful event – from volunteers to visitors – all of whom helped make it a great day.
